Open Camera from the app drawer

Tap the settings gear

In Camera, tap the gear icon at the bottom left. The Photo settings sheet slides up.

Tap the settings gear

Tap the flash-on icon

On the General tab, find the More light / Flash row — it reads None. Tap the flash-on (lightning bolt) icon on the right.

Tap the flash-on icon

Confirm Flash is selected

The row now reads Flash and the bolt icon is highlighted; the flash symbol also appears in the viewfinder top bar.

Confirm Flash is selected

Good to know

  1. This is the Camera app’s own Flash setting, not the Quick Settings flashlight tile — it controls the flash for photos, not the torch.
  2. The Flash row offers three icons: off, auto, and on (lightning bolt).
  3. The recording shows a real change: the row reads None with the off icon selected before the tap, and Flash with the bolt icon highlighted after it.
