How to Enable or Disable Google Discover on Pixel 11 Pro with Android 17

Google Discover lives one swipe right from the Home screen — and the switch that controls it sits in Home settings, not in the Google app. Swipe right to check the feed, then long-press the Home screen to find the switch.

Steps

Swipe right to open the Discover feed

From the Home screen, swipe right: the Google Discover feed opens, with news stories under the Google logo and weather cards at the top.

Swipe right to open the Discover feed

Long-press the Home screen

Go back to the Home screen and long-press an empty area: a menu opens with Wallpaper & style, Widgets, Apps list and Home settings.

Long-press the Home screen

Tap Home settings

Tap Home settings at the bottom of the menu.

Tap Home settings

Find the Discover switch

On the Home settings page, find Swipe to access Google app: this switch controls the Discover feed. Turn it off to disable Discover, or on to bring it back — it is already on in this recording, so no tap is shown.

Good to know

  1. The recording never taps the switch: Swipe to access Google app is already on, so the video shows where the switch lives rather than flipping it.
  2. Discover is switched from Home settings, not from the Google app or system Settings.
  3. The feed itself is the confirmation that Discover is on: swipe right from the Home screen and the news feed opens.
  4. The long-press menu also lists Apps list, which opens the app-drawer settings — a different page from Home settings.
