How to Fix a TikTok Video Uploaded But Not Showing

A TikTok upload that never appears on your profile is usually still a draft, hidden by its privacy setting, or stuck behind a stale profile grid. Check those three places in order before waiting it out.

Steps

Check your profile grid

Open TikTok and go to your profile, then check the grid — and the padlock tab, which holds your private videos.

Check your profile grid

Check Drafts

Open the Drafts folder. If you tapped Drafts instead of Post, the video is sitting here, unpublished.

Check Drafts

Change a private video to Everyone

Open the padlock (private) tab, open the video, then tap the menu, Privacy settings, and change Who can see this post from Only you to Everyone.

Open Free up space

Tap the menu, go to Settings and privacy, and scroll down to Free up space.

Open Free up space

Clear the cache

Tap Clear next to Cache to force the app to refresh your profile grid. This deletes no videos or settings.

Good to know

  1. Cache already reads 0.0MB in this recording, so the Clear tap’s visible effect is not shown on camera.
  2. Checking the Play Store for a TikTok update and waiting 10–15 minutes for server processing are narration-only; neither is demonstrated for this account.
  3. No recovered video appears on camera: if the video is in neither Drafts nor the private tab, it is most likely still processing on TikTok’s servers.
