How to Enable Auto Scroll on TikTok for Hands-Free Playback

Auto scroll plays the next video on your For You page by itself when the current one ends, so you can watch hands-free without swiping. It lives in the long-press menu on any video, and you can switch it off the same way.

Good to know

  1. Auto scroll only advances when the current video finishes playing. If a video is long, the next one will not start until it ends.
  2. To turn auto scroll off, long-press a video again and tap the Auto scroll toggle. The film opens the menu a second time with the toggle on, but the tap that switches it off is not shown on camera.
  3. The setting applies to the For You feed on this device. The film shows the feed advancing on its own and TikTok’s ‘Scroll to your next post’ toast.
  4. If the Auto scroll row is missing from your long-press menu, make sure TikTok is updated - the option may not appear in older versions or all regions.
