How to Check for the Find Similar Setting on TikTok

Find Similar suggests videos that look like one you interacted with. To switch it off, the narration sends you to Content preferences - but on the account in this film, that page has no Find Similar option at all. Here is where to look, and what it means if you don’t see it.

Look for a Find Similar option

This is the page the film ends on. On the filmed account it lists Filter keywords, Restricted Mode, STEM feed, Manage topics, Refresh your For You feed, and Muted accounts - there is no Find Similar row or toggle to switch off. If your account shows a Find Similar option here, tap it and switch it off; if it doesn’t, there is nothing to turn off.

Good to know

  1. The film never shows a Find Similar toggle: the Content preferences page on the filmed account has no Find Similar row, and nothing is tapped or switched off on camera. The video title promises a switch that the footage does not contain.
  2. The narration says the option may not be available in all regions or app versions - if you don’t see it, TikTok is managing similar-video recommendations automatically and there is nothing to turn off.
  3. The closest related controls on the filmed page are ‘Manage topics’ and ‘Refresh your For You feed’, which steer recommendations in general - they are not a Find Similar switch.
  4. The demo account is the operator’s test account (@meow27_30). Faces in the profile video grid are blurred in the screenshots.
